Raymond H. Reimer grew up in central Kansas, and attended Bethel College (Kansas) before graduating from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. He went on to earn a doctorate from Princeton Theological Seminary in Biblical Studies (with a New Testament emphasis), and taught at Rutgers University, Augustana College (South Dakota), North American Baptist Seminary (now Sioux Falls Seminary), as well as offering extension courses for AMBS.

Ray was at a settled pastorate in Topeka, KS early in his career, but much of his ministry has been in interim or transitional assignments, working with about ten congregations in Oklahoma, Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. He enjoys walking with communities of faith during times of passage by helping groups claim their distinctive identity, heal hurts, and explore new opportunities for joining God in mission.

Ray’s service work has also included a teaching assignment with Mennonite Central Committee in Bolivia, serving on the support committee for the Mennonite Voluntary Service unit in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and chairing the Pastoral Leadership Committee of the Central Plains Mennonite Conference. He also has authored several adult Bible studies for Mennonite Publishing Network and the ’Gather Round curriculum series.

He is a member of Sermon on the Mount Mennonite Church in Sioux Falls, of which his wife, Rosie Epp, is pastor. Ray and Rosie are parents of two daughters, one of whom in a social worker in Wichita, while the other attends Bethel College.

Ray began serving as transitional pastor of the Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing, Kansas in early July, 2011.
